Start Time: 09:00 Local time
West Indies A high on confidence will be looking forward for the 3rd encounter against India A
With India opting to field, they must have been on such a high when Vinay Kumar gave them a major breakthrough by picking up the wicket of Kieran Powell for four in the seventh over. He was caught behind by Naman Ojha on a delivery which was slightly shorter on the off-side. Vinay Kumar took up another wicket in the ninth which was of Andre Fletcher. In the 28th over, Kirk Edward had other plans and after hitting Yusuf Pathan for a six, he got out on the next ball. If seeing his partner get out wasn’t enough, Andre Russell followed in his footsteps smashing two huge sixes out of the park, just to be caught the third time he tried to repeat his shot. What followed made the West Indies A team very happy indeed. There was a huge partnership of 131 runs between Jonathon Carter and Leon Johnson. Vinay Kumar got his third wicket in the 46th in the form of Leon Johnson, who made a well compiled 39. Soon Jonathon Carter followed getting bowled by Unadkat for a well-deserved 133 runs. Chasing a target of 280, India got off to a horrible start. The score read 24 for 2. Much consolation was done in the form of 102 for 3. But in the 28th over, Yuvraj and Yusuf got out to consecutive deliveries bowled by Nikita Miller. Once India A lost their 6th wicket, everything was over for them, and their inning came to a close at 224, losing by 55 runs.
West Indies A:-
West Indies A may not have started off as they would have liked, but much of the input given by Leon Johnson and especially Jonathon Carter’s innings helped them get back in the game and bag a win. His innings consisted of fluent as well as rash shots. He never seemed to be bogged down by the occasion keeping in mind that he nor Leon had played the 1st ODI in the series. To imagine, Carter had been dropped on 6 by Yusuf Pathan. Carter reached his hundred off 117 balls. Carter’s strike consisted of 18 fours and two sixes. The West Indies A bowlers performed well too. The West Indies right arm pacer Miguel Cumins took 4 wickets giving away 31 runs. In Another shining star was Nikita Miller who rounded up figures of 46 for 2. His victims included the likes of Yuvraj (40) and Pathan (0). The West Indies high on confidence after winning the previous game will be looking forward to win the series once and for all.
